Initial Brainstorming
I started by jotting down possible topics. I wanted to choose topics that I felt strongly about. Something that I had experienced myself so that I could portray my journey of getting through it. Being a visual thinker mind maps and thumbnails help me in my brainstorming process. I also try to go through my daily sketches to see if something stands out to me.
Final Ideation and Implementation
After my brainstorming session, I decided I wanted to represent the anxiety we face in our day-to-day lives. I found a form from one of the previous daily sketches that I thought was interesting. The rough sketch of a ballerina had an air of elegance to it. I decided to flesh out this idea and played around with it a little. I wanted to portray my state of mind as this ballerina form and anxiety as shards of glass disturbing its tranquility.

While I liked the idea of having the ballerina portray the state of, I decided to change the way I portrayed anxiety. I went with a more unplanned scribble across the image of the ballerina. I chose to give them a soft, feminine mood and have an unruly, harsh scribble on them. I chose different line weights and denseness on different boards to represent how people who experience anxiety do not have the same experience every day.
